Kitchen Blowtorch Review – Is The Bonjour Chef’s Torch Worth It?
Bonjour Brushed Aluminum Chef’s Torch Review by Stephanie Blakely
My overall rating: 4/5
Is it worth it? In a word, yes. The BonJour Chef’s Torch is a sturdy kitchen blowtorch that has been going strong in this reviewer’s kitchen for more than 3 months. If you love making desserts as much as I do then this is one essential, affordable tool for making Creme Brulee, browning meringues, even roasting peppers and melting cheese. Using the chef’s torch gives my dishes that professional “finishing touch”, and the response from my friends and family is simply “wow” when I serve them my desserts.
Lets have a look at the this kitchen blowtorches features:
- The torch is made from die cast aluminum, it doesnt look cheap at all which adds to the wow factor if you use it in front of your guests.
- The grip is comfortable and overall the unit feels very solid in your hand.
- Features a handy fuel-level indicator window so you can easily see how much fuel you have left.
- Fuelled by standard butane containers, refilling is simple and quick.
- Large base makes it very stable to stand up on its own.
- Can be used by anyone at all to make amazing professional chef-quality desserts at home.
- If you want to buy this kitchen blowtorch it is currently on sale through this link to Amazon.
For the price I paid I couldn’t find a better blowtorch on the market. You can spend a lot more but for most people this is the perfect solution. The only downside I have found to this product is that it does tend to go through the fuel rather quickly. Its a trade off in return for a bigger, stronger flame, which is what makes this chef’s torch far more useful than some of the lesser-quality alternatives.
Heres another review I found from an owner of the Bonjour Chef’s Torch:
Vera L.
I have always wanted a torch for Creme Brulee and I finally bought one. I am very pleased with the BonJour Chef’s Torch. It is very easy to operate, I love that it has a viewable fuel gauge and it has a safety latch. I have aready used it for Creme Brulee and also to add a nice finished touch to some meringue. I recommend this to anybody looking for their first torch.

If you want to get your own Chef’s Torch they are now currently on sale through this link to Amazon.
I would also recommend getting some spare Butane refills, and Ramekins if you dont already have them.
Great review on the chef’s torch. We use it for everything!
Thanks Terra, its great isn’t it?
